BEACH BREAKS MOST POPULAR HOLIDAY, SAYS WHICH?

It’s official: beach breaks are the most popular kind of holiday, according to a new consumer survey.

Research by Which? magazine finds that beach and seaside holidays accounted for a third (34 per cent) of all holidays taken by Which? members over the last two years, solidifying their position as an all-time favourite, the Press Association reports.

The news that beaches are best was also backed up in the findings from Expedia’s annual ‘Flip Flop’ survey released earlier this week, where it was discovered that over half (52 per cent) of holidaymakers plan to holiday in the sun and sand this year.

UK holidaymakers in particular are spoilt for choice when it comes to beach breaks, with locations in the South providing some of the best quality, award-winning shores and favourable weather. Isle of Wight hotels, for example, could likely be a hit this year.

Customer satisfaction levels were a major focus in Which?’s study, where it found that overall, customers had a positive experience with most travel brokers.

For example, the first 10 of 26-studied companies all achieved customer satisfaction levels of 85 per cent or higher – a statistic rarely seen in any of Which?’s other research.

“Holiday companies, on average, get a higher customer score than those in most areas we survey,” Which? explained on telegraph.co.uk. “We found the high performers had lots of loyal customers. Nearly half of all members (46 per cent) have travelled with the same holiday company more than once.”
