SOUTHERN SCORCHER FORECAST THIS WEEK

Forecasters are predicting a southern scorcher this week, banishing away the wet and windy memories of late.

Dailymail.co.uk reports that temperatures in the South East could in fact rival those of even Mediterranean destinations, with the mercury predicted to rise as high as 25C on Wednesday.

Temperatures like this will no doubt be welcomed by sun worshippers across the nation, who are desperate to forget the recent downpours that have plagued the nation. They’ll also make the perfect accompaniment to for families on Isle of Wight breaks or those holidaying in other south-coastal locations.

“It’s certainly turning quite warm this week and things will really start to heat up from Wednesday onwards,” said Tom Tobler, a forecaster at MeteoGroup, according to thisislondon.co.uk.

“The temperature will begin to rise today, with a fair amount of cloud mixed with sunshine, but people will really start to notice a difference tomorrow.”

Other parts of the country will similarly be blessed with warmer climes, with temperatures in Wales and Scotland – which have largely seen the worst of the weather of late – getting into the low 20s.

However, the good news also comes tinged with a risk of showery outbreaks, forecasters warned.

“There is the chance of some thundery downpours in the East on Wednesday and Thursday but they will be pretty few and far between,” Mr Tobler added.
