FESTIVAL-GOERS ENJOY SUNNY WEEKEND AT BESTIVAL

Fans and artists have took to Twitter to express how much fun they had at Bestival this weekend, bbc.co.uk reports.

More than 50,000 spectators enjoyed glorious sun at the music event over the weekend, which was headlined by Florence and the Machine, Stevie Wonder and New Order.

The festival took place at Robin Hill leisure park, which is a favourite amongst holidaymakers on Isle of Wight breaks.

Florence Welch, whose band performed after Mercury-award winners XX , tweeted to her followers:

“Such a joy playing Bestival with the beautiful XX last night, so amazing to be main stage with them after tour tour growing up together! xxxx.”

Performer Emeli Sande also tweeted about her time at the festival, saying: “Bestival!! My first time!! And I get it now! Amazing!!”

New Order were the headline act for the Saturday night, playing a rowdy set including their hit ‘Blue Monday’. Their set followed appearance from the likes of Sister Sledge, De La Soul and the Earth Wind and Fire experience on the main stage, according to belfasttelegraph.co.uk.

Stevie Wonder was the last headline act to perform, playing crowd-pleasing hits such as ‘Superstition’ and ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You’.

Revellers at the sold-out event – which was streamed on YouTube for the first time ever – were dressed in wildlife fancy dress for the events famed carnival parade that takes place each year.
