PAUL WELLER AND LAWSON JOIN ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL LINE-UP

Paul Weller, Lawson and Ke$ha are amongst the acts announced to perform at this years Isle of Wight Festival, reports capitalfm.com.

They join the remaining acts already confirmed for the festival, which takes place at the Island’s Seaclose Park. These include The Stone Roses, The Killers and Bon Jovi. Former Jam frontman Weller will appear as a special guest on the Friday night of the festival, shortly before The Stone Roses.

Talking about the set, he told bbc.co.uk: “It’s been a while since I’ve played [the festival] and I’m excited to be playing it this year. It’s a great way to kick of the summer.”

John Giddings, the festival’s promoter, added: “If you like music, you like Paul Weller – he is one of the greatest singer-songwriters this country has produced and we are proud to bring him to our small island off the South coast.”

The festival is known to be a favourite amongst music fans and attracted a total of 55,000 people last year; some of whom potentially took up Isle of Wight accommodation during their stay.

Other acts confirmed include Emeli Sande, Fun, Ellie Goulding and The Script. This year’s festival will take place from June 13th – June 16th.
